Retail & Hospitality
An experiential retail environment designed to capture engagement and maximize sales within an immersive exhibition setting.
Located in Las Vegas, Nevada, the Bob Marley Hope Road retail store serves as the entry and exit point for the immersive “Hope Road” exhibition experience.
Irwin Raymond was engaged to design a high-performance retail environment that blends seamlessly with the energy and visual language of the exhibit—while strategically maximizing sales from a captive audience. The objective was to create a store that feels integrated, vibrant, and operationally disciplined.
The retail environment needed to function as both a natural extension of the exhibition and a carefully orchestrated sales platform.
The primary objective was to create a retail store that is fully aligned with the spirit and aesthetic of the Hope Road experience—while optimizing revenue capture.
Because all visitors pass through the store upon entering and exiting the exhibit, the layout needed to encourage exploration, increase dwell time, and guide guests efficiently toward purchase.
The Challenge
The success of this project required balancing experiential immersion with precise traffic and merchandising strategy.
Key challenges included:
Managing high-volume traffic flow entering and exiting the exhibit
Guiding customers through merchandise displays in a clear and intuitive sequence
Designing an orderly and efficient cash wrap queue
Accommodating large groups within a compact retail footprint
Evaluating multiple space plan scenarios to determine the strongest balance of circulation and sales performance
The environment needed to feel energetic and fluid—without becoming chaotic.
Our Strategy
We approached the project through a performance-driven experiential retail framework—aligning traffic flow, merchandising density, and operational clarity from the earliest planning stages.
Our strategy focused on:
Developing a space plan that naturally guides visitors through product zones
Designing fixture systems that support both visibility and flexibility
Creating intuitive queue management integrated within the store layout
Translating the exhibition’s vibrant rasta palette into architectural and display elements
Coordinating millwork fabrication and vendor execution to maintain both durability and visual impact
Every decision reinforced the goal of achieving the ideal balance between form, function, and sales performance.
The Design Solution
The final environment reflects the vibrant energy and positive spirit associated with Bob Marley.
Bold rasta-inspired colors and expressive design elements create continuity between the exhibition and the retail space. Custom fixtures and millwork support strong product presentation while maintaining circulation clarity. Strategic merchandising zones encourage browsing, while the checkout sequence is integrated seamlessly into the spatial flow.
The result is a retail environment that feels immersive and aligned with the exhibit—while operating with disciplined efficiency behind the scenes.
The Result
A balanced integration of experiential design and operational performance.
Bob Marley Hope Road has achieved:
A cohesive retail extension of the immersive exhibition experience
Optimized traffic flow and queue management within a high-volume setting
Strong sales capture from a captive audience
The store demonstrates how thoughtful planning can convert engagement into measurable retail success.
