Blue Moon Tap House
Location, TBD
Hospitality
A multi-faceted tap house concept designed to connect craft beer culture with community and creativity.
Blue Moon engaged Irwin Raymond to explore a new hospitality concept that would extend the brand beyond traditional tap room environments.
Envisioned as part tap house, part marketplace, and part community hub, the project aimed to create a destination experience that reflects the creativity and craftsmanship associated with the Blue Moon brand. The objective was to develop a cohesive spatial and brand strategy capable of resonating deeply with craft beer enthusiasts.
Though the concept was not ultimately constructed, it served as a strategic exploration of how hospitality environments can amplify brand culture.
The Challenge
The success of this concept required translating a nationally recognized beverage brand into a layered, experiential hospitality environment.
Key challenges included:
Creating an immersive tap house experience aligned with Blue Moon’s identity
Designing a space that blends retail, hospitality, and community programming
Developing a flexible layout that supports events, gatherings, and everyday use
Establishing emotional engagement beyond transactional consumption
Ensuring the concept felt authentic to craft beer culture
The environment needed to feel dynamic and participatory—while remaining strategically cohesive.
Our Strategy
We approached the project through a brand-led hospitality framework, aligning concept development, spatial planning, and experiential storytelling.
Our strategy focused on:
Defining a multi-zoned layout combining tap house, marketplace, and communal areas
Introducing an open “Creative Commons” space designed for connection and inspiration
Incorporating a hidden speakeasy element to create layered discovery
Translating the brand’s creative ethos into architectural language and programming opportunities
Developing a scalable concept capable of adapting to multiple potential locations
Every decision reinforced the idea of Blue Moon as a catalyst for community and creative exchange.
The Design Solution
The proposed environment blends openness with intrigue.
A central community space anchors the experience, encouraging guests to gather, collaborate, and engage. Adjacent retail and marketplace components support brand storytelling and product exploration. A hidden speakeasy element adds depth and discovery—creating a sense of layered hospitality.
The concept positions the tap house not only as a place to enjoy craft beer, but as a cultural venue aligned with the spirit of creativity that defines the brand.
The Result
A multi-functional spatial model blending retail, beverage, and community programming.
The Blue Moon concept delivered:
A fully developed hospitality strategy aligned with brand identity
A scalable concept framework adaptable to various markets
A cohesive design narrative celebrating creativity and craft
While the project remained conceptual, it established a clear roadmap for how Blue Moon could extend its brand into immersive hospitality environments.
